Welcome to the International Chaplains
Association (ICA), a worldwide ecumenical association of Christian Chaplains. We
are united together to
constantly
renew our commitment to
a deeper understanding of serving
those in need. We are committed to seeking the will of
God in our lives and in our faithful
dedication to the service of Jesus Christ.
The chaplaincy is a specialized ministry, where chaplains serve
not in a church, nor in a congregation, but to the public at
large.
Christian Chaplains are there to listen, care, and respond
appropriately, for such is the nature of
the chaplaincy. ICA Chaplains believe in, adhere to, cleave
to, trust to have faith in, and rely on the Lord Jesus Christ for all guidance in responding to the needs of those we serve.
Professional membership
attests to both competence and endorsement for the chaplain ministry. Professional membership
is for all Christian clergy who are in agreement with
our affirmation of faith and ethical statement. Our mission is to create a
professional association for chaplains and to establish professional
guidelines in the practice of this specialized ministry. The standards we
have developed help to ensure skilled and effective chaplains.
As applicants come into membership of the International
Chaplains Association (ICA), they often ask the question:
